The banner has fallen and the stage is set, Ludacris is the headlining artist for Bulldog Bash this year.
Students gathered in the YMCA Plaza today starting at 11:00 in anticipation of the announcement of the biggest free outdoor concert in the state of Mississippi each year. At noon, the Bulldog Bash Committee, being Seniors Sally Stafford, Katie Bee, Charlie Guest, Belle Grace Wilkinson and Morgan Taylor dropped the ceremonial banner announcing that multi-platinum time recording artist Ludacris will come to Main Street.
Ludacris, known for hits like “Yeah!” with Usher and Lil Jon and “Baby” with Justin Bieber will take center stage on October 4th, having previously performed all across the globe and more recently at the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show.
Ludacris has seen some of the biggest stages on Earth and been on some of the biggest screens. Touted for his creative music videos and his beloved character “Tej” in the “Fast & Furious” franchise, he has also seen extreme multimedia success.
With 6 million monthly listeners on Spotify and a following of over 20 million people on Instagram, the excitement for his arrival should shake the foundation of Starkville for the weeks to come.
The announcement comes as the first of many with Bulldog Bash, as the stage is not fully set. This Saturday, Music Maker Productions will be putting on Battle of the Bands, which will have the winner open the stage at Bulldog Bash.
Aside from this, the featured artist remains to be announced, so the excitement for Bulldog Bash is only beginning, with the bar being set arguably higher than ever before.
Along with the Maroon Market, the Local Stage, Battle of the Bands and more, Bulldog Bash is lining up to be one of the biggest ever put on, and today is just the start.
