Mississippi State’s standout sophomore Meggan Hodge has been named the SEC’s women’s cross country Athlete of the Week, as released by the conference office today. The Beaumont, Alberta, native has led the Bulldogs for two straight weeks. She won the individual title at Sewanee two weeks ago and was the first collegiate athlete to cross the line at the FSU Invitational on Saturday.
She has led the Bulldogs in seven of her eight meets on campus over her two-year career. Hodge has won two races in her career, only the fourth Bulldog to ever win multiple events. This is Hodge’s first Athlete of the Week honor.
Mississippi State’s cross country team competes in Tuscaloosa at the Crimson Classic today.
