The Starkville Police Department, said in a news release Monday it has arrested and charged a 17 year old with the Sept. 18 armed robbery of a Mississippi State University student on University Drive.
Dshante Aquill Nix, of 2172 Williams Road, Starkville, has been charged with one count of armed robbery. His bond has been set at $100,000. Nix is being held in Clay County Jail.
Nix is not a suspect in the attempted sexual assault of a jogger that occurred on Sept. 12 around the same area as the armed robbery, SPD said.
The Sept. 18 crime occured at 2:30 a.m. near Stromboli’s on University Drive as the victim was walking home. The robber pulled a gun and demanded all of her things, but left the victim unharmed.
The investigation is ongoing.
