Although several cases of burglary have taken place on campus, we’re thankful that the MSU Police Department has been on top of the situation.
The campus police have worked well with the Starkville police in investigating who performed these burglaries. Sometimes smaller crimes are ignored by authorities, but we commend our police for trying to stop a trend that should not be tolerated.
Moreover, the MSU Police Department did a good job-while working with authorities from Tupelo and Lee County-when it helped locate a suspect connected with the Dorman Hall fire. The department did this in less than a week.
Many times it’s hard for journalists to receive information from the police. However, the campus police have been willing to send us briefs that helped our stories. We encourage the Starkville police to become as open as the MSU Police Department when it comes to sharing information.
In short, thanks, MSU police, for staying on top of campus crime.
