In response to Bill Atkinson’s disgust for out football team, I have another opinion. Being a current student at MSU, I realize the positive economic impact the football team has had and will continue to have on MSU no matter what the final score is. I also realize that some of my best memories at State were made tailgating before and attending Bulldog football games, even if we never win a game! The football games unite the student body as a whole, as well as the alums. It is obvious that there are alumni who still enjoy Saturdays spent in Starkville by the amount of RVs that pull onto campus on Thursday afternoons before a home game.
If you determine the quality of a school by the wins on a football field, you are not a true alumnae anyway. It takes a true Bulldog to love MSU for its good, and for its bad.
