For the second time in three years, Mississippi State University will host the After Dark program in Lee Hall Auditorium on Wednesday at
8 p.m.
After Dark is a ministry aimed at college students, said senior Haley Tranum, a campus organizer for the event. It features a speaker and a concert. After Dark visits 12 college campuses a year.
Joe White will be the featured speaker. He is the president and owner, along with his wife Debbie Jo, of Kanakuk Kamps, a Christian organization that operates summer camps for over 20,000 children and 2500 college-age professional staff. White also speaks at Promise Keepers events and Focus on the Family radio.
“Joe White tries to create an environment through his presentation that will change the perspective of the audience and society. It’s an incredible
presentation,”said junior Kyle York.
White will present a program designed to show the crucifixion process through the eyes through the eyes of those who watched it, Tranum said.
Two-time Dove Award winners By The Tree will also perform at the event.
“White is so inclusive in his presentation in that anyone will experience a fresh perspective and moving message regardless of how or where they have grown up. His ability to communicate, especially to people our age, is unlike any other,” York said.
