It’s hard to believe it’s already November and the road to the Fiesta Bowl and the end of the season is getting shorter and shorter. With only a few short weeks left in the season, conference and national titles are on the line–not to mention the title of Mississippi State’s top football predictor.
After a three week stretch that included 14 wins to only four losses, I have pulled to within one game of leader Ross Dellenger, who is 36-18. Jon Hillard is also tied for second with a record of 35-19. The real story is Grant Alford, who spent most of the start of the season in the cellar. Alford has now pulled to within five games of the lead after being 10 games out of first place at one point.
It was tough to find six games that were worth mentioning this week, but after some searching, we found six games that are sure to produce some close finishes.
The featured game is also the BCS game of the week featuring 12th-ranked Colorado at No. 1 Oklahoma. The Sooners haven’t beaten CU in fourteen years, but haven’t played CU since their 38-24 loss to the Buffs in 1999.
The “World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” kicks off in Jacksonville this Saturday. The Florida Gators and the No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs will renew their heated rivalry, and for the first time in years, Georgia is favored.
Other big games include Minnesota at No. 5 Ohio State, Arizona State at No. 8 Washington State and No. 7 Texas at Nebraska.
