College Park Communities will host its annual College Park Crawfish Boil Saturday, from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. In addition to the traditional crawfish boil and usual activities, the college-favorite band, U.S, will perform throughout the festivities. Kerstii Sims, director of marketing at College Park, said that the event is a must attend for those looking to have a great time during Super Bulldog Weekend.
“College Park will be host to numerous activities ranging from tournaments, a politically correct swimsuit competition and a first-time offering of a buy-one-get-one free move-in special,” Sims said. “The crawfish boil is always a great time for students, and with the addition of U.S playing poolside at this year’s event, this year should be no exception.”
Rick Welch, owner of Rick’s Caf? Americain and long-time sponsor of the event, said he is excited about the upcoming festival.
“The Crawfish Boil always provides the students with a chance to get away from the stresses of school and really enjoy themselves. We at Rick’s are happy to be able to sponsor such an event,” Welch said. “Rick’s Caf? will be giving away cups and T-shirts, providing Jagermeister tattoos and selling tickets to the upcoming Afroman and David Allan Coe concerts.”
Rick’s Caf?, along with Miller’s Refrigeration, Steven Steamers Carpet Cleaners, Four Seasons Lawn and Maintenance and Darren Hall Painting are collectively sponsoring the boil.
